Diggin in the Crate: The Sheffield Drum Record (1983)
I stumbled across this gem today while diggin in the crates. Strictly drums. Nothing else. The entire pressing is just two tracks. One is Jim Keltner on the kits and the other is Ron Tutt. If you're a sample-based producer you're going to want this one for your collections. I would have to say this is really only for producers and DJs since there are no vocals and no other instruments. I doubt the average listener would get excited to hear drum improvisations, but for the crate diggers - enjoy
JIM KELTNER
RON TUTT
Personally I dig Jim Keltner's set, especially the break at 1:30 and then the piece at 4:24. I'll definitely be chopping these into my mixes.
