MUSIC IS LIFE MAGAZINE FEATURE

Originally from upstate NY, Da’ Hitman has played his role in Hip-Hop on a global scale. From spinning behind Melle Mel in Germany to Ultramagnetic MCs in Austin TX to Tribe Called Quest in Dallas TX to showcases in NY, NC, Florida, Chicago, Detroit, etc. He has production credit on an RIAA-certified Gold album with KRS-One, worked with Dr Dre, and toured with countless acts across the US. His primary focus is now sighted in on his radio and mixtape hustle.

Da’ Hitman first broke into radio at 89.3fm in Dallas with his mentor EZ Eddie D, then adding mixshows at K104fm (the number 1 station in the number 5 media market). You can now hear Da’ Hitman every Saturday night at 9pm EST on Swurv Radio along with guest mixshow appearances on internet, college, and terrestrial radio. Along with his weekly radio show “The Unique Styles Show” you can hear Da’ Hitman at work on a growing catalog of mixtapes with major and indie artists.

Da’ Hitman first broke into the mixtape game in 2009 with 31 mixtapes drawing more than 350,000 hits ranging from projects with Keith Sweat to Atiba to Bobby Creekwater to Wreckamic. He is currently 14 mixtapes deep into his 2010 goal of 35 and has already eclipsed 100,000 hits. “I think what separates my mixtapes from others is that I am not locked into any one specific region so I work with artists from every corner of the US which expands my penetration to a wider audience.” Da’ Hitman is a very vocal advocate for real DJs doing real mixes. “It irritates me that so called ‘DJs’ are discrediting our craft with these compilations buried in sound effects and screaming vocals and calling them mixtapes. I take the art of being a DJ very personal and will protect our craft against these fakes and frauds.”

Da’ Hitman is a member of the Mixtape Syndicate along with being a Certified Lord Gang DJ and a Coast 2 Coast DJ. In March of 2010 Da’ Hitman added Gemini DJ to his credits.
